Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, person-centered care to geriatric residents, treating each person with dignity
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming)
• Monitor and record vital signs and changes in condition accurately and promptly
• Support safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and lift techniques
• Maintain a clean, safe and comfortable environment for residents
• Communicate clearly with nurses, family members, and the interdisciplinary care team
• Document care and observations thoroughly in the resident record
• Report any changes in a resident’s condition promptly to clinical staff

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (required)
• State certification/registration as applicable for Maryland
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Comfort and ability to work the evening shift (3:00 PM - 11:00 PM)
• Strong communication skills and a heart for working with older adults
• Ability to pass background check and meet facility health requirements

Education

• High school diploma or GED required
• Completion of an accredited GNA program preferred

• Geriatric care and compassion-focused approach
• Assistance with ADLs and personal care
• Safe resident transfers and mobility support
• Basic vital sign measurement and observation skills
• Accurate documentation and attention to detail
• Infection control and safe hygiene practices
