Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Provide compassionate hands-on care and emotional support to geriatric residents
• Monitor and record vital signs and report any changes in condition to nursing staff
• Document care accurately and timely in resident records to ensure continuity
• Support safe mobility and fall-prevention efforts through attentive assistance
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and the care team to coordinate care
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control protocols

Qualifications

• Current GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification required
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings
• Compassionate, patient-focused attitude with strong communication skills
• Comfortable assisting with physical tasks and following care plans

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) / CNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) and basic resident care
• Skill measuring and recording vital signs accurately
• Familiarity with infection prevention and safety protocols
• Basic charting and documentation skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Ability to prioritize tasks and respond to resident needs promptly
