Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered nursing care on the Med Surg and Ortho unit during 12-hour night shifts
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualized care for patients, managing typical Med Surg caseloads
• Collaborate with PCTs, unit secretaries and the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, timely care
• Document patient status, interventions and outcomes accurately in Meditech
• Support patient experience goals by communicating clearly and advocating for patient needs
• Participate in unit staffing and floating assignments to meet patient demands across inpatient areas

Qualifications

• Active RN license (state licensure required for KY assignment)
• Minimum 2 years nursing experience (Med Surg experience strongly preferred)
• BLS certification required
• Comfortable working 12-hour night shifts and fulfilling weekend scheduling requirements
• Positive attitude, strong teamwork skills and ability to manage an appropriate patient load
• Proficiency with Meditech or willingness to learn documentation workflows

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid Med Surg and orthopedic nursing knowledge including common assessments and interventions
• Skilled in electronic documentation; familiarity with Meditech is a plus
• Comfort with typical Med Surg patient ratios (usually about 6:1) and prioritization skills
• Strong communication and collaboration with PCTs, techs and interdisciplinary team members
• Ability to adapt to floating assignments in CCU and ED when needed
