Shift Type: Night shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM (12-hour nights); rotating nights including weekends — includes 3 weekend (Saturday/Sunday) shifts per month
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $42 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate postpartum and newborn nursing care to mothers and babies on the Mother/Baby unit
- Assess, monitor and document maternal and neonatal status using CPN/Meditech EMR systems
- Perform and assist with routine procedures on the unit such as circumcisions when qualified
- Manage patient assignments safely within the unit’s 6-8:1 patient ratio expectations
- Educate families on newborn care, postpartum recovery and safe discharge planning
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate high-quality, family-centered care
- Respond promptly to clinical changes and escalate concerns to the care team as appropriate
Qualifications
- Active RN license (Texas) or compact license eligible to work in Texas
- Minimum 1 year of Mother/Baby or Postpartum nursing experience required
- Current BLS and NRP certifications required
- Comfortable working 12-hour night shifts and covering occasional weekends
- Experience with Meditech and CPN EMR systems is a plus
- Energetic, team-oriented approach with strong communication and patient education skills
Knowledge & Skills
- Clinical expertise in Mother/Baby and postpartum care
- Newborn assessment and routine newborn care knowledge
- Familiarity with Meditech and CPN electronic medical records
- Ability to manage patient ratios and prioritize care in a busy unit
- Basic obstetric/gyn exposure (preferred) and experience with circumcisions a plus
- Strong patient/family education and documentation skills
