Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality emergency nursing care to a diverse patient population
• Perform timely patient assessments and prioritize care in a fast-paced FSED setting
• Initiate IV starts and manage vascular access safely and efficiently
• Obtain and interpret 12-lead EKGs and escalate findings appropriately
• Operate and monitor ventilators and point-of-care lab equipment as needed
• Document care clearly and accurately in the Meditech electronic medical record
• Collaborate with physicians, CNAs, and team members to deliver coordinated patient care
• Engage patients and families with clear education and supportive communication

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — ability to practice in Texas preferred
• Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience (Emergency Department or similar setting ideal)
• Comfortable with IV starts and 12-lead EKGs
• Experience with Meditech or similar EMR systems a plus
• Experience or interest in Free Standing Emergency Department (FSED) work is preferred
• Strong teamwork, communication skills, and an inclusive attitude

Education

• Nursing education (ADN, diploma, or BSN) — clinical nursing preparation required

Knowledge & Skills

• Proven patient assessment and triage skills in emergency settings
• Skilled in IV starts and vascular access management
• Able to obtain and interpret 12-lead EKGs
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR workflows
• Experience with ventilators and point-of-care (POC) lab machines
• Comfortable working in fast-paced, rotating-shift environments and handling variable patient volumes
