Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform thorough patient assessments and prioritize care in a fast-paced emergency setting
• Start IVs and manage vascular access with competence and compassion
• Obtain and interpret 12-lead EKGs, escalating abnormal findings appropriately
• Document care accurately and efficiently using the Meditech EMR
• Collaborate with CNAs, sitters, and the interdisciplinary team to deliver coordinated care
• Triage and manage acute presentations, making timely decisions that impact patient outcomes
• Contribute to a positive unit culture by being inclusive, helpful, and team-oriented

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas or Compact RN license
• Minimum 1 year of clinical experience (Emergency Department experience preferred)
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Comfortable working in a Free Standing Emergency Department (FSED) environment
• Reliable, team-focused attitude with strong communication and assessment skills

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN). BSN preferred.

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in IV starts and basic emergency procedures
• Proficient with performing and assessing 12-lead EKGs
• Strong patient assessment and triage skills in urgent care and ED settings
• Experience using Meditech EMR for documentation and orders
• Ability to work alongside CNAs and sitters and to coordinate patient care
• Familiarity with vent support basics and point-of-care lab equipment is a plus
