Candidate Pay Rate: $66 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, expert pediatric oncology nursing care in an outpatient clinic setting
- Access and manage ports and central lines safely and efficiently
- Administer blood and blood products with careful monitoring and documentation
- Start and maintain IVs, manage infusion pumps, and deliver chemotherapy per protocol when applicable
- Perform phlebotomy and central line blood draws with accuracy and attention to patient comfort
- Triage phone calls, coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team, and follow up on clinic needs
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and psychosocial supports in an age-appropriate way
- Recognize and respond to oncologic emergencies, including hemorrhage and other acute complications
- Prepare for clinic visits, review cases, and support case management activities to optimize patient flow
- Serve as a unit charge/resource when required, supporting staffing and clinical decision-making
Qualifications
- Active CA RN license required
- AHA BLS and PALS required
- Minimum 2 years pediatric RN experience and at least 1 year of hematology/oncology clinic experience
- Previous charge nurse experience required
- Experience working with patient ratios around 1:4 (clinic experience preferred)
- Familiarity with Epic charting system preferred
- Preferred certifications: APHON, CPHON, ONS/ONCC, Chemo certification (ONS/ONCC)
- COVID-19 vaccine and booster required per facility guidelines (medical/religious exemptions only)
Education
- BSN preferred
- Master's degree highly preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Pediatric oncology nursing and care of patients with leukemia and blood dyscrasias
- IV therapy, infusion pump management, and chemotherapy principles
- Port access and central line care including PICC management
- Administration of blood and blood products and phlebotomy skills
- Telephone triage and care coordination for outpatient oncology patients
- Recognition and management of oncologic emergencies
- Patient and family education with strong psychosocial support skills
- Familiarity with outpatient infusion center and bone marrow transplant clinic workflows
