Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct patient care and assistance with activities of daily living
• Monitor and record vital signs accurately and report changes to nursing staff
• Assist with safe transfers, mobility, and personal care while preserving dignity
• Document resident conditions and care provided in a timely, professional manner
• Follow infection control procedures and facility policies to keep residents safe
• Collaborate with the nursing team and DON to support individualized care plans
• Support a positive, resident-centered environment through respectful communication

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (required)
• Active authorization to work in Rhode Island (state-specific certification may be required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Comfortable working evening shifts and providing hands-on care
• Strong communication skills, reliability, and a team-first attitude
• Previous long-term care or skilled nursing experience is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Completion of an accredited CNA training program and current CNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in assisting with ADLs (bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding)
• Accurate vital signs measurement and reporting
• Familiarity with charting and electronic documentation best practices
• Good infection control and safety awareness
• Ability to follow care plans and take direction from licensed nurses
• Strong time management and prioritization during busy shifts
