Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare the operating room by ensuring instruments, supplies, and equipment are sterile and ready
- Assist surgical team during procedures by passing instruments and anticipating needs
- Maintain strict sterile technique and uphold patient safety standards throughout cases
- Perform room turnover efficiently to support on-time case starts in a busy schedule
- Communicate clearly with nurses, surgeons, and support staff to coordinate smooth surgical flow
- Document case details and instrument counts accurately to support patient care and compliance
- Work independently with minimal supervision while contributing to a collaborative team environment
Qualifications
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (required)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (required)
- Three or more years of Operating Room Technologist / OR Tech experience (required)
- Proven ability to work with minimal direction and maintain high standards of care
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced OR setting and adapting to different surgical cases
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid knowledge of sterile technique and surgical instrumentation
- Experience with instrument counts, sterile field setup, and room turnover
- Strong communication and teamwork skills in the perioperative environment
- Ability to anticipate surgeon needs and support efficient case flow
- Familiarity with basic OR workflows and safety protocols
