Candidate Pay Rate: $35 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Administer medications accurately and safely by oral, rectal, topical, inhalation, eye, or ear routes under RN supervision
- Maintain and secure the medication cart and medication storage areas
- Perform and document non-narcotic medication counts with a medication technician or licensed nurse at shift change
- Document all medication administration on the MAR in accordance with facility policy
- Take and record vital signs correctly, including apical pulse when required
- Report significant changes in resident condition or vital signs promptly to the Charge Nurse or Supervisor
- Coordinate medication supply checks and communicate reorder needs with nursing staff
- Provide compassionate resident care, supporting long term care and skilled rehabilitation needs while managing frequent interruptions
Qualifications
- Maine CNA-M certification with CNA-M course work listed on the State of Maine certification (must show)
- Demonstrated competency in medication administration under RN direction
- Experience or comfort working in long term care or skilled rehabilitation settings preferred
- Ability to perform non-narcotic counts and follow medication security procedures
- Strong documentation skills for MAR completion and clinical reporting
- Able to work independently, remain flexible, and handle emotionally charged situations with professionalism
Knowledge & Skills
- Medication administration and PRN medication procedures
- MAR documentation and medication cart management
- Taking and interpreting vital signs, including apical pulse
- Communication with nursing staff, medical personnel, residents, and families
- Ability to work independently and manage frequent interruptions
- Emotional resilience and adaptability in long term care environments
