Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
• Monitor and record vital signs and report changes to the nursing team promptly
• Assist with safe transfers, ambulation, and positioning to maintain mobility and comfort
• Support mealtime assistance and feeding as needed with dignity and respect
• Help maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control procedures
• Communicate clearly and kindly with residents, families, and the care team
• Participate in team huddles, documentation, and care planning to support excellent outcomes

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification (must meet Rhode Island state requirements)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings
• Comfortable performing patient transfers and following safe lifting practices
• Strong communication skills and a positive, patient-centered attitude
• Previous experience as a CNA is a plus, but compassionate caregivers at all levels are encouraged to apply

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an approved CNA training program and current CNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) and resident care basics
• Skill in taking and documenting vital signs accurately
• Familiarity with infection control practices and safe patient handling
• Basic documentation skills and ability to follow care plans
• Empathy, patience, and effective communication with residents and families
• Teamwork mindset and ability to take direction from nursing staff
