Roles & Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat outpatient and inpatient rehab patients with individualized, evidence-based plans of care
- Perform gait training and functional mobility interventions to help patients return to their daily activities
- Fabricate and fit temporary splints and orthotics as needed to support recovery and function
- Deliver post-surgical and orthopedic rehabilitation focused on safe, effective progress
- Provide vestibular and balance services and participate in neurological and lymphedema care when indicated
- Collaborate closely with occupational therapy, speech therapy, nursing, and physicians for coordinated care
- Document all care accurately and efficiently in EPIC to ensure continuity and quality
- Educate patients and caregivers on home programs, safety strategies, and recovery milestones
Qualifications
- Minimum 2+ years' experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant/Physical Therapist Aide in a rehab/outpatient setting (New grads not considered)
- Active New Hampshire Physical Therapist Aide/Assistant license or Compact eligibility (must be uploaded)
- Current American Heart Association BLS certification (required)
- Previous travel experience preferred
- Must include traveler permanent address in profile and provide any requested time-off (RTO) at submission
- Own transportation required for this assignment
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility will not be considered
- Availability for Monday–Friday day shift schedule with typical hours of 8:30 AM–5:00 PM; scheduling requests must be submitted up front (no changes after offer)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong outpatient rehab skills including gait training and functional mobility
- Experience with splint and orthotic fabrication (temporary and permanent)
- Competence in post-surgical, orthopedic, neurological, vestibular, and lymphedema therapies
- Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical records for documentation
- Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams (OT, SLP, nursing, physicians)
- Excellent patient education and communication skills
- Comfort treating a wide variety of conditions from stroke to orthopedic recovery
- Professionalism, organization, and attention to detail in a fast-paced setting
