Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert scrub technologist support in the operating room for total joints, multi-level spine fusions and Xi robotic cases
• Prepare and maintain sterile instrumentation and equipment prior to and during cases
• Anticipate surgeon needs and manage instruments efficiently to keep cases running smoothly
• Assist with setup and troubleshooting of robotic systems and specialty instrumentation
• Document case details accurately in the Epic EMR and communicate handoffs clearly
• Serve as a patient advocate, ensuring safety, dignity and informed care throughout the perioperative experience
• Collaborate with perioperative team members to maintain positive workflow and high quality outcomes

Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification
• NBSTSA certification required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of OR scrub experience (preferably with total joints, neuro and robotic cases)
• Comfort and experience with Xi robotics, spine fusion and total joint procedures preferred
• Familiarity with Epic EMR documentation preferred
• Strong teamwork, communication and patient advocacy skills

Education

• Surgical Technology diploma or associate degree in surgical technology preferred; CST certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Proven sterile technique and OR safety practices
• Experience with robotic surgical platforms, especially Xi systems
• Skilled with total joint and multi-level spine fusion instrumentation
• Ability to use Epic EMR for case documentation and charting
• Strong situational awareness, instrument management and anticipation of surgical needs
• Excellent communication and ability to work well in a high-paced OR team
