Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality critical care to SICU patients, including trauma and post-cardiac surgical patients
- Monitor and manage advanced life support equipment such as ECMO, CRRT, and balloon pumps
- Safely manage central lines, chest tubes, medication drips, and complex post-operative care
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and execute individualized care plans
- Perform timely assessments, escalate changes in condition, and document care in Meditech
- Educate patients and families with compassion and clear communication during critical moments
- Contribute to a positive unit culture by supporting colleagues and promoting efficient workflows
Qualifications
- Active RN licensure (state RN license required)
- Minimum 2 years of critical care/ICU experience (per job posting)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
- TNCC or ATCN certification (required)
- Experience with ECMO, CRRT, balloon pump support, and post-operative cardiac care preferred
- Familiarity with Meditech EMR and critical care documentation
- Demonstrated ability to work at a 1:2 patient ratio and 1:1 for high-acuity patients
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong critical care assessment and hemodynamic monitoring skills
- Experience with trauma, post-CABG and post-TAVR patient management
- Competence in managing chest tubes, central lines, and titratable medication drips
- Hands-on experience with ECMO and CRRT therapies
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced SICU environment
- Clear communication, organization, and the ability to prioritize under pressure
