Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality emergency nursing care for a diverse caseload — from fast track to trauma
• Assess and triage patients quickly, prioritizing safety and timely interventions
• Operate and manage emergency equipment such as Alaris pumps and rapid infusers with confidence
• Provide airway support, central line care, and resuscitation when called upon
• Collaborate with physicians, paramedics, and multidisciplinary team members to coordinate care
• Apply behavioral health de-escalation techniques compassionately when needed
• Document care accurately in MEDITECH and communicate clear handoffs during shift changes
• Participate in unit policies and quality initiatives to improve patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Active RN license (Texas) — required
• Minimum 1 year of experience (emergency nursing preferred)
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications (required)
• ENPC, TNCC, and NIHSS certifications (required)
• Trauma and fast-track experience preferred
• Familiarity with MEDITECH EMR preferred
• CPI and holding/inpatient experience a plus
• Strong teamwork, multitasking, and critical thinking skills

Education

• Active RN license in good standing (Texas)
• ADN or BSN in Nursing (BSN preferred but not strictly required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency services and rapid assessment skills
• Experience with Alaris infusion pumps, Belmont/Level 1 rapid infusers and Stryker stretchers
• EKG interpretation and central monitoring
• Central line care and resuscitation procedures
• Airway support and trauma assist techniques
• Behavioral health de-escalation strategies
• Proficiency using MEDITECH documentation
• Ability to perform in a fast-paced, high-acuity ED environment
