Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide skilled emergency nursing care for a diverse patient population, from minor illnesses to multi-trauma cases
- Triage and assess patients quickly and accurately to prioritize care
- Perform life-saving interventions including resuscitation, airway support and central line management
- Collaborate with physicians, paramedics and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate rapid, effective treatment
- Use MEDITECH to document care, track orders and ensure continuity of treatment
- Support behavioral health patients with de-escalation techniques and safe management
- Operate and troubleshoot emergency equipment such as Alaris pumps, rapid infusers and Stryker stretchers
- Mentor and communicate clearly with colleagues to maintain safe patient ratios and smooth handoffs
Qualifications
- Current RN license (able to practice in Texas preferred)
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience (emergency experience strongly preferred)
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications (required)
- ENPC, TNCC and NIHSS certifications (required)
- Trauma and central line experience is a strong plus
- Experience with MEDITECH or similar EMR preferred
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and rotate weekends
- CPI or behavioral health experience desirable for de-escalation scenarios
Education
- Active Registered Nurse license; BSN preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Emergency nursing and trauma care
- Airway management and resuscitation skills
- EKG interpretation and cardiac monitoring
- Central line care and rapid infuser familiarity
- Behavioral health de-escalation techniques
- Proficient use of MEDITECH or similar electronic medical records
- Strong multitasking, communication and teamwork abilities
- Calm decision-making in high-pressure, fast-paced settings
