Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality telemetry nursing care to adults on a 28-bed medical/telemetry unit
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond to telemetry alerts promptly and appropriately
• Administer medications, perform IV insertions and IV blood draws when needed
• Perform common unit procedures such as Foley and NG tube insertions safely and competently
• Step in to deliver respiratory treatments when respiratory therapy is short-staffed
• Document patient care accurately in Meditech and communicate clearly with the interdisciplinary team
• Support unit workflow by collaborating with CNCs, unit secretaries and PCTs to maintain excellent patient care

Qualifications

• Active RN licensure (license transfer/compact considerations may apply)
• Minimum 1 year of medical/telemetry nursing experience
• BLS and ACLS required
• AccuChek access prior to facility arrival (must be set up before start)
• Comfortable with Meditech EMR
• IV insertion and basic procedural skills (Foley, NG tube) required
• CNC or relief charge experience preferred but not required

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and interpretation
• Meditech electronic medical record proficiency
• IV insertion, IV blood draws and basic procedural competence
• Strong clinical judgment and ability to triage in a fast-paced setting
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Flexibility to float between Telemetry and Observation as needed
