Roles & Responsibilities

• Triage and assess patients rapidly to prioritize lifesaving care
• Provide direct patient care including medication administration and monitoring
• Perform and assist with emergency procedures such as intubation, lumbar puncture, TNK administration, laceration repair and splinting
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in Meditech EMR
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient flow and disposition
• Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments and follow-up plans
• Maintain patient safety and a therapeutic environment in a fast-paced emergency setting

Qualifications

• Current RN license (ability to obtain Texas licensure required for the assignment)
• TNCC and ENPC — must have by start date
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of recent emergency nursing experience (greater than 2 years preferred)
• Experience with Meditech or similar EMR highly desirable
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking and teamwork skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in emergency nursing workflows and triage principles
• Skilled in airway management and basic/advanced emergency procedures (intubation, LPs)
• Proficient with Meditech EMR documentation and order entry
• Comfortable with wound care, suturing/laceration repair and splinting
• Ability to manage a 4:1 patient ratio while maintaining high-quality care
• Calm under pressure, excellent communication and patient advocacy
