Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care for a high-acuity, 32+ bed emergency department
• Assess, triage, and manage patients and prioritize interventions in fast-paced situations
• Perform emergency procedures such as intubation support, lumbar punctures, wound repair and splinting as needed
• Collaborate closely with physicians, medics, and support staff to optimize patient flow and outcomes
• Document care accurately in Meditech EMR and communicate changes in condition promptly
• Participate in unit initiatives to improve patient safety, throughput, and team performance

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (eligible to work in Texas)
• Minimum 1 year clinical nursing experience (Emergency experience highly preferred)
• TNCC and ENPC required by start date
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Comfortable performing emergency procedures (intubation exposure, LP support, wound repair/suture removal, splinting)
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR preferred
• Strong teamwork, communication, and patient advocacy skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Active RN license required

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency nursing assessment and triage best practices
• Experience with Meditech electronic medical record system
• Proficiency in ACLS and BLS protocols
• Skills supporting invasive procedures and urgent interventions
• Ability to work effectively in a high-volume, fast-paced ED with 4:1 patient ratios
• Critical thinking, rapid decision-making, and clear communication under pressure
