Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, resident-centered care to older adults with dignity and respect
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Support safe mobility and transfers to prevent falls and promote independence
- Monitor and document resident conditions, behaviors, and changes promptly and accurately
- Communicate clearly with the nursing team and participate in care plan updates
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control practices
- Build trusting relationships with residents and their families to enhance quality of life
Qualifications
- GNA certification or equivalent (Class: GNA) — required
- Experience in geriatric or long-term care settings is preferred
- Comfort working an evening shift (3:00 PM - 11:00 PM)
- Strong observational skills and ability to follow care plans
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; GNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of geriatric care principles and resident rights
- Ability to assist with ADLs and safe patient handling
- Basic documentation and charting skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with residents and team members
- Knowledge of infection control and safety procedures
