Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents and assist with activities of daily living
• Support mobility and safe transfers while using proper body mechanics
• Monitor residents’ condition and promptly report changes to nursing staff
• Assist with feeding, grooming, bathing, and toileting while preserving dignity
• Document care provided clearly and accurately in the resident record
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to create a warm, safe environment
• Engage residents in meaningful activities and emotional support to enhance quality of life

Qualifications

• Current GNA / Geriatric Nursing Assistant certification (required)
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Comfortable working with older adults and supporting ADLs with compassion
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well on a care team
• Prior long-term care or assisted living experience is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an accredited GNA training program or equivalent certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic nursing care and geriatric-specific considerations
• Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
• Familiarity with infection control and safe handling procedures
• Good documentation skills and attention to detail
• Strong interpersonal skills and patience for resident-centered care
• Basic mobility assistance and safe transfer techniques
