Candidate Pay Rate: $22 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate hands-on care to geriatric residents, assisting with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
- Observe and report changes in resident condition to the nursing team to help ensure timely interventions
- Support safe transfers and fall-prevention practices, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
- Help maintain a clean, comfortable environment by assisting with room setup and basic housekeeping related to resident care
- Document care provided accurately and promptly, contributing to clear communication across the care team
- Build trusting relationships with residents and families, promoting dignity, respect, and person-centered care
- Participate in team huddles and follow facility policies for infection control and resident safety
Qualifications
- GNA certification (required) — current and valid in Maryland
- CPR/BLS certification (preferred or required by facility)
- Ability to pass background checks and meet facility immunization requirements
- Comfortable working the night shift and providing hands-on care
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Previous experience in long-term care or working with geriatric populations is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of an approved Geriatric Nursing Assistant program or state-equivalent training
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of basic geriatric care principles and ADLs
- Ability to observe and report changes in resident status
- Familiarity with safe transfer and lifting techniques
- Basic documentation and charting skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and empathy for older adults
- Time management and ability to prioritize resident needs during a shift
