Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate daily care to residents, assisting with bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility
• Support resident comfort and dignity while encouraging independence
• Take and record vital signs and observe changes in condition, reporting concerns to nursing staff
• Document care activities accurately and timely in resident records
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to implement care plans
• Assist with safe transfers and use of assistive devices following safety protocols
• Create a warm, respectful environment that promotes social engagement and wellbeing

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification or equivalent (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) required or completed training
• State nursing assistant certification as required for Maryland
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or ability to obtain upon hire
• Previous experience working with older adults or in long-term care is a plus
• Ability to pass background checks and meet facility onboarding requirements
• Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-centered mindset

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a GNA program or certified nursing assistant training preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic nursing assistant duties and resident care best practices
• Comfortable with vital signs, basic charting, and documentation
• Infection control and safe patient handling techniques
• Excellent interpersonal skills and empathy for older adults
• Time management and ability to work effectively within a care team
