Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate bedside care to residents, supporting dignity and comfort
- Assist with daily living activities like bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
- Monitor resident status and report changes to nursing staff promptly
- Build trusting relationships with residents and families through respectful communication
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow care plans with attention to detail
- Support a safe, clean environment by following infection control and safety protocols
Qualifications
- GNA certification (state-required) — current and in good standing
- Current CPR/AED certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Comfortable working night shift and delivering hands-on care to older adults
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Previous experience in long-term care or geriatric settings preferred
Education
- High school diploma or GED
- Completion of an accredited GNA training program or equivalent
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of geriatric care principles and common age-related conditions
- Ability to assist with transfers, mobility support, and safe patient handling
- Basic charting and documentation skills
- Empathy, patience, and excellent interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with infection control and resident safety best practices
