Location: Bowie, MD
Shift Type: 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM NOC (Night shift); days of week to be confirmed by facility
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $20 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, respectful care to geriatric residents and promote dignity
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding)
- Monitor residents for changes in condition and communicate observations to nursing staff
- Support mobility and safe transfers, using proper body mechanics and equipment
- Document care, vitals, and interventions accurately and timely in resident records
- Help create a calm, home-like environment and encourage resident engagement
- Follow infection control, safety protocols, and facility policies consistently
Qualifications
- Current GNA or equivalent nursing assistant certification (state-specific credential required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Successful completion of a state-approved GNA training program
- Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings (TB, immunizations)
- Compassionate attitude, strong communication skills, and dependable work ethic
- Previous experience in long-term care or geriatric settings is a plus but not always required
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an approved Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Comfortable assisting with activities of daily living and personal care
- Knowledge of basic infection control and safety procedures
- Strong observation and reporting skills to notice changes in residents
- Good interpersonal skills for working with residents, families, and the care team
- Basic charting and documentation skills
- Ability to follow care plans and directions from licensed nursing staff
