Geriatric Nursing Assistant
Location: Bowie, MD
Shift Type: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM (Evening shift; specific days not provided)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $20 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming and feeding
- Assist with mobility and transfers using safe body mechanics to protect residents and staff
- Observe, document and report changes in residents' condition to nursing staff in a timely manner
- Support mealtime assistance and engage residents in social and recreational activities to promote wellbeing
- Follow infection control procedures, facility policies and maintain accurate resident records
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to deliver person-centered care and preserve resident dignity
Qualifications
- Valid GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) required
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Ability to pass background check, TB screening and any required immunizations
- Previous experience caring for older adults is a plus
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient-centered approach
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent and GNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic clinical skills: taking vital signs, observing clinical changes and reporting appropriately
- Comfortable assisting with ADLs and mobility support
- Excellent interpersonal skills for working with residents and families
- Good documentation and time management skills
- Team-oriented mindset and ability to follow care plans and facility protocols
