Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care to residents, focusing on dignity and respect
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility
- Monitor and record vital signs and changes in resident condition accurately
- Perform safe transfers and use proper body mechanics to protect residents and staff
- Document care, observations, and any incidents promptly and thoroughly
- Communicate effectively with nurses, families, and interdisciplinary team members
- Support a clean, safe, and welcoming environment through infection control and housekeeping assistance
Qualifications
- GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) — state certification preferred
- Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Comfortable assisting with ADLs and performing basic clinical tasks
- Good communication skills and a team-first attitude
- Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings
- Previous experience in long-term care or a similar setting is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of an approved GNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Working knowledge of resident-centered care and geriatric needs
- Basic vital signs measurement and documentation skills
- Familiarity with infection control practices and safe handling procedures
- Hands-on skill with safe resident transfers and mobility assistance
- Clear, compassionate communication with residents and families
- Time management and ability to prioritize resident safety
