Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the registered Physical Therapist in delivering therapeutic interventions and treatment programs that make a meaningful difference in patients' lives
• Perform routine treatment procedures in line with planned care to promote patient progress
• Observe, record, and report patient conditions, reactions, and treatment responses to your supervising therapist
• Help maintain accurate records and documentation to support quality care and compliance
• Direct and coach Physical Therapy Aides when appropriate to ensure safe, effective treatments
• Keep your treatment area clean, organized, and ready for each patient encounter
• Communicate with patients' physicians about progress and treatments in consultation with the supervising PT
• Participate in facility educational activities to grow your skills and support team learning

Qualifications

• Current Arizona license required for submission OR proof of application with an ETA for approval
• Current certification with the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA)
• Graduation from an approved and accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
• Ability to safely lift, turn, move, and transport patients and perform minimal assist transfers (ability to lift/control up to 50 pounds)
• Ability to work a five-day weekly schedule and collaborate with a rehab team

Education

• Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program (approved and accredited therapist program)

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in therapeutic intervention and implementing treatment plans
• Experienced with routine treatment procedures and documentation
• Strong patient handling, transfers, lifting, and transport techniques
• Comfortable with charting, record keeping, and reporting clinical observations
• Good communication with supervising PTs, physicians, patients, and aides
• Ability to direct and supervise physical therapy aides when needed
• Maintaining a safe, organized treatment area and participating in ongoing education
