Candidate Pay Rate: $55 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide thorough pre-op assessments for inpatients and outpatients to ensure safe surgical care
- Deliver Phase II recovery care, monitor patients, and finalize safe discharge home
- Monitor cardiac rhythms and promptly manage dysrhythmias using established protocols
- Administer medications including narcotics and reversal agents with careful pain assessment
- Educate patients and families on pre-op instructions, post-op care, and discharge plans
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiology, and the perioperative team to coordinate care
- Document all care accurately and efficiently in Epic and other required charting systems
- Float within the service line as needed, bringing flexibility and teamwork to unit needs
Qualifications
- Active RN license (compact licenses honored by Swedish facilities) — must be eligible to work in WA
- Minimum 1 year of relevant nursing experience (perioperative/pre-op/recovery) — travel experience required
- No first-time travelers accepted; previous travel assignments or separation rules apply per facility
- Epic charting experience required
- BLS required; ACLS preferred
- Comfortable with monitored anesthesia care, conscious sedation, nerve blocks and airway support (CPAP/BiPAP) as encountered
- Able to manage patient ratios consistent with unit expectations (Days 1:2, Nights 1:3)
- Willingness to float within the service line and cover a variety of surgical case types
Knowledge & Skills
- Pre-op assessment and education for both inpatients and outpatients
- Phase II recovery and discharge planning
- Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia recognition/management
- Experience with ENT, General Surgery, Gyn, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Urology and related cases
- Familiarity with conscious sedation, MAC, nerve blocks and airway support (CPAP/BiPAP)
- Medication administration including narcotics/opioid analgesics and reversal agents
- Epic electronic charting and accurate clinical documentation
- Ability to teach patients and families and to collaborate within interdisciplinary teams
