Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Variable schedule (traveler's choice of 4x12 or 3x12) — Day shift: variable days, 07:00 AM - 07:00 PM; Night shift: variable days, 07:00 PM - 07:00 AM NOC; schedule may include weekends as assigned; traveler may be called off one 12-hour shift per 2 weeks (guaranteed 60 hours per 2 weeks).

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct care to long term care residents, supporting dignity and comfort
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, feeding, toileting, and mobility
- Obtain and record vital signs and perform glucose point-of-care testing accurately
- Perform safe patient transfers using proper equipment such as Hoyer and skylifts
- Monitor residents and promptly report changes in condition to the clinical team
- Follow infection control procedures, including donning and removing PPE and isolation precautions
- Chart patient care timely and accurately in the ECS system
- Float within scope to meet facility needs and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team
Qualifications
- Current CNA license (AK CNA may be pending if the Alaska application has already been submitted and documentation provided)
- If AK license is pending: valid CNA license in another state and verification of completion of a formal CNA training program (certificate/transcript)
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of experience in long term care (previous travel experience required)
- Comfort working with geriatric populations including Alzheimer's, dementia, and TBI diagnoses
- Ability to safely perform patient transfers and use lift equipment
- Willingness to work required holiday coverage per facility guidelines and adhere to RTO restrictions
Education
- Completion of a formal CNA training program with certificate or transcript
- High school diploma or GED preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and resident assistance
- Accurate measurement and interpretation of vitals, oxygen use, and glucometer testing
- Strong infection control practices and PPE use
- Experience with ECS charting or similar electronic charting systems
- Familiarity with long term care workflows, patient ratios, and geriatric care
- Safe patient handling and transfer techniques (Hoyer and skylifts)
- Effective communication and timely reporting of changes in patient condition
