Candidate Pay Rate: $55 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide safe, efficient pre-operative assessments and education for both inpatients and outpatients
- Deliver Phase II recovery care and ensure safe discharge home with clear instructions
- Manage postoperative pain and administer medications, including narcotics and reversal agents, with precision
- Monitor cardiac rhythms and recognize and manage dysrhythmias promptly
- Support a wide range of surgical cases including ENT, general surgery, gyn, ophthalmology, ortho, and urology
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care and ensure smooth patient throughput
- Float across ambulatory/outpatient, inpatient, pre-post, and Phase II recovery settings as needed
- Chart accurately in Epic and maintain documentation that supports patient safety and continuity
Qualifications
- Current RN license (active compact license accepted at Swedish facilities)
- Minimum 1 year of recent clinical experience; travel experience required, first-time travelers not accepted
- Epic experience required
- BLS required; ACLS preferred
- Ability and willingness to float within the service line and across required settings
- Experience with cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia recognition/management
- Comfort with a 1:2 patient ratio on days and 1:3 on nights, and working varied perioperative cases
- Must meet facility orientation requirement (40 hours) and any credentialing standards
Knowledge & Skills
- Pre-op assessment and patient education
- Phase II recovery and discharge planning
- Post-op care across multiple surgical specialties
- Medication administration including narcotics and reversal agents
- Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia recognition
- Familiarity with ambulatory/outpatient and inpatient perioperative workflows
- Ability to support special procedures such as endoscopy and vascular cath pre-op when needed
- Comfort with CPAP/BiPAP and breathing treatments when required
