Roles & Responsibilities

• Scrub and assist in cardiovascular and general OR procedures, including CABG, valve work, AAA repairs and other complex cases
• Maintain sterile technique and ensure patient safety during high-acuity operations
• Chart accurately and efficiently in EPIC to keep patient records current and clear
• Operate and assist with specialty equipment such as cell saver, electrosurgical units and robotic systems (Da Vinci Xi)
• Participate in call rotation (weekend and evening call) and float to Main OR as needed
• Deliver 1:1 patient care in high-acuity settings and advocate for patient needs
• Respond to codes and emergency events with professionalism and calm

Qualifications

• Active RN license required (pending Washington license accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of OR experience with CVOR and General OR scrub skills
• BLS required; ACLS, PALS, TNCC and CNOR preferred
• Proven ability to scrub for cardiovascular procedures (CABG, valve work, AAA, carotid cases, VADs, etc.)
• Experience with EPIC charting
• Comfortable floating to Main OR and working 1:1 patient ratios
• Ability to work required call shifts including at least one weekend/month

Education

• Nursing degree (ADN or BSN) and active RN license

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in scrub procedures for CVOR and General OR
• Familiarity with cardiovascular procedures: CABG, AVR, MVR, AAA, carotid, VATS/RATS and minimally invasive cardiac cases
• Experience with robotic surgery support (Da Vinci Xi) and other advanced OR tech
• Competent with cell saver, electrosurgical units, Steris systems and fiber optic light sources
• Strong infection control, specimen handling and universal protocol (time out) practices
• Emergency management skills: code response, malignant hyperthermia preparedness, and blood/blood product administration
• Excellent teamwork, communication and quick learning in a fast-paced OR environment
