Shift Type: 3x12 variable schedule — Days: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM (3 shifts/week) OR Nights: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM (3 shifts/week); schedule is facility-dependent (caregivers are typically assigned either day or night shifts, occasional exceptions for urgent staffing). Must be willing to work holidays. Shift type: day_night (variable)

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate assistance with Activities of Daily Living (bathing, feeding, dressing, toileting) to preserve dignity and comfort
- Perform safe patient transfers and ambulation assistance, using proper body mechanics and transfer techniques
- Monitor and record vital signs (BP, pulse, respirations, temperature) and recognize abnormal parameters
- Conduct glucose point-of-care testing and document results per facility protocol
- Practice strict infection control: donning/removing PPE and following isolation precautions
- Use Epic for accurate, timely charting and reporting of changes in patient condition
- Support pressure injury prevention, incontinence care, mouth care and general skin care routines
- Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team and escalate changes in patient status
Qualifications
- Active AK CNA license preferred; pending AK CNA license accepted only if the applicant has already submitted the Alaska CNA application with required documentation (application submission proof, fees, fingerprints, education verification, license verification)
- If AK CNA is pending: must hold a valid CNA license from another state and provide proof of completion of a formal CNA training program (certificate/transcript)
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of LTC or skilled nursing experience (previous travel experience required per posting)
- First-time travelers not accepted — candidates must have prior travel experience
- Permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility (locals not accepted)
- Willingness to float within scope to meet facility needs and to work observed holidays
- Valid driver’s license and appropriate insurance documentation if you will operate the provided vehicle
Education
- High school diploma or GED
- Completion of a formal CNA training program (certificate or transcript required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong skills with Activities of Daily Living and ADL assistance
- Vital sign monitoring, including orthostatic BP checks and pulse/respiration assessment
- Safe patient transfers and mobility assistance
- Infection control practices, PPE use, and isolation precautions
- Glucose point-of-care testing and basic point-of-care procedures
- Charting in Epic with attention to accurate documentation and timely reporting
- Familiarity with oxygen tanks and pulse oximetry monitoring
- Able to recognize and report changes in patient condition clearly and promptly
