Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver hands-on physical therapy treatments and assist with therapeutic exercises
- Implement treatment plans under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist
- Monitor and document patient progress accurately and promptly
- Assist patients with mobility, transfers, and use of assistive devices
- Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and safety strategies
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
- Maintain treatment areas and equipment in a clean, safe, and functional condition
- Advocate for patient-centered care and help achieve meaningful functional gains
Qualifications
- Active California Physical Therapist Assistant license required
- Graduated from an accredited PTA program
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or must obtain upon hire
- Clinical experience as a PTA is preferred; enthusiasm and strong clinical skills required
- Valid identification and ability to complete required onboarding and background checks
Education
- Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid knowledge of therapeutic techniques and restorative interventions
- Strong documentation skills and attention to detail
- Ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with patients and team members
- Good clinical judgment, time management, and prioritization skills
- Comfort working in a fast-paced healthcare environment and adapting to change
