Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents including assistance with activities of daily living
- Support safe transfers and mobility for residents while following facility protocols
- Monitor resident condition and promptly report changes to the nursing team
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care and observations
- Assist with feeding, grooming, bathing, and toileting while preserving dignity and comfort
- Follow infection control, safety, and facility procedures to protect residents and staff
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver person-centered care
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (required)
- Active certification in North Carolina or ability to obtain NC CNA certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Previous experience in long-term care or acute care settings preferred
- Excellent communication skills and a compassionate, patient-focused attitude
- Ability to pass facility-required background checks and health screenings
Education
- High school diploma or GED (preferred)
- Completion of an accredited CNA training program and current CNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong understanding of activities of daily living (ADLs) and basic nursing care
- Familiarity with infection control and safety best practices
- Comfortable with direct resident care, transfers, and mobility assistance
- Good clinical observation skills and ability to escalate concerns
- Basic charting and documentation skills
- Team-oriented mindset and positive bedside manner
