Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate hands-on care to geriatric residents, helping with activities of daily living
- Assist with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility in a respectful way
- Monitor resident status and promptly report changes to the nursing team
- Support mealtime feeding and ensure dietary needs and textures are followed
- Document care activities accurately and maintain clear communication with the care team
- Help create a calm, safe, and engaging environment that preserves dignity and independence
Qualifications
- GNA certification (Class: GNA) as noted in the job posting
- Current CPR/BLS certification or ability to obtain upon hire
- Ability to pass required background checks, TB screening, and health checks
- Strong interpersonal skills and a patient-centered attitude
- Comfort working with older adults, including those with dementia or mobility limitations
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- GNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on resident care and safe transfer techniques
- Basic vital signs monitoring and reporting
- Familiarity with infection control and proper PPE use
- Clear, respectful verbal and written communication
- Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
- Teamwork and collaborative problem solving in a clinical setting
