Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess patients quickly and accurately on arrival to the ED to prioritize care and improve outcomes
- Develop and implement individualized care plans using clinical pathways and accepted emergency protocols
- Provide advanced life support when needed following ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and ATLS standards
- Coordinate patient flow from admission to discharge and communicate clearly with interdisciplinary teams
- Manage trauma and emergency cases in a Trauma Level IV Critical Access Hospital setting
- Participate in on-call and holiday coverage to ensure continuity of emergency services
Qualifications
- Current, active RN license for Colorado or compact license as applicable
- Certifications required or expected: ACLS, PALS (or equivalent), TNCC, ATLS, CEN
- Experience in Emergency Department/Trauma nursing; Critical Access Hospital (CAH) experience preferred
- Comfortable with night shifts, on-call responsibilities, and occasional multi-site coverage
- Ability to assess, triage, and manage a broad range of emergency presentations
Knowledge & Skills
- Patient assessment and rapid triage
- Care planning and coordination from admission to discharge
- Implementation of clinical pathways and evidence-based emergency protocols
- Trauma management and emergency nursing techniques
- Strong communication and teamwork in high-acuity settings
- Experience with 12-hour shifts and on-call duties
