Shift Type: 4x10 day shifts, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM (four 10-hour day shifts per week); includes on-call 1 day per week and rotating weekend on-call every 4th/5th weekend (Friday 6:00 PM - Monday 7:30 AM). May include approximately one Saturday per month as part of the scheduled 4 shifts. Day with overnight weekend on-call (day_night).

Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, high-quality patient care in the cardiac cath lab for adult and geriatric patients
- Prepare patients and assist with interventional procedures including PCI, stent placement, IABP and Impella insertion, rotablator atherectomy, and pacemaker procedures
- Continuously monitor hemodynamics and dysrhythmias, and intervene promptly using advanced cardiac life support when indicated
- Administer and closely monitor procedural sedation, reversal agents, and emergency medications
- Perform sheath removal and topical hemostasis while monitoring Activated Clotting Time (ACT) and managing post-procedure bleeding risks
- Start and maintain IV access, manage blood product administration, and operate IV infusion pumps
- Document thoroughly and promptly in Epic to ensure continuity of care and regulatory compliance
- Float to EP or IR labs within scope to support department needs and broaden clinical experience
- Participate in on-call rotation and respond to emergent cases across the weekend coverage period
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes and support unit workflow
Qualifications
- AK RN license in hand required for auto-offer (pending license accepted during screening but must have license for offer)
- Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing experience (Cath Lab / interventional or comparable)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Experience with cardiac catheterization procedures, interpretation/management of dysrhythmias, and patient monitoring
- Comfortable with on-call responsibilities (1 day/week plus rotating weekend on-call Fri 6:00 PM - Mon 7:30 AM)
- Ability to float to EP and IR labs as needed
- Proficient charting experience with Epic
- Willingness to work a 4x10 day schedule and meet facility travel/contract requirements (locals not accepted; permanent address must be at least 50 miles from facility)
Knowledge & Skills
- Cardiac catheterization and interventional cardiology knowledge (PCI, stents, left/right heart cath)
- Monitoring and management of dysrhythmias and use of antiarrhythmics
- Procedural sedation administration and end-tidal CO2 monitoring
- Sheath removal, topical hemostasis techniques, and ACT monitoring
- Familiarity with advanced devices: Impella, intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP), rotablator and other interventional tools
- IV therapy skills including blood product administration and infusion pump management
- Ventilator basics and ability to assist with ventilator management when required
- Infection prevention and isolation precautions in procedural settings
- Comfort with Hybrid OR and interventional radiology work settings
