Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, respectful care to residents and support their daily living activities
• Assist with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility with dignity and safety
• Measure and record vital signs and report changes in condition to the nursing team
• Document care and observations accurately in the resident record
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and support staff to deliver coordinated care
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and follow infection control practices
• Support residents’ emotional well-being through friendly interaction and meaningful engagement

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification (Certified Nursing Assistant) — must be active or eligible in Maine
• Previous experience as a CNA preferred but new grads who meet certification requirements are welcome
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings, including immunizations
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a care team
• Reliable, punctual, and committed to resident-centered care

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Current CNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfortable assisting with activities of daily living and mobility support
• Experience taking and recording vital signs and basic clinical observations
• Familiarity with resident care documentation and common electronic charting systems
• Knowledge of infection prevention practices and safe patient handling
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with residents and families
• Time management and prioritization in a fast-paced healthcare setting
