Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound exams across OB/GYN, vascular, neonatal and general ultrasound modalities using GE, Siemens and portable systems
• Execute fetal anatomical surveys and trimester-specific OB/GYN scans with attention to detail and patient safety
• Conduct vascular studies (carotid, arterial/venous lower & upper extremities, renal artery duplex) and Doppler exams accurately
• Support ultrasound-guided procedures such as amniocentesis, paracentesis and biopsies, collaborating closely with physicians
• Document studies and communicate findings clearly in Epic and PACS to ensure timely clinician review
• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care and education to patients and families — especially pediatrics and neonates
• Float between the main hospital and outpatient center as needed and respond to on-call assignments professionally
• Maintain equipment, perform quality control checks, and report any technical issues promptly

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of ultrasound experience (clinical experience performing diagnostic exams)
• Travel experience required — comfortable with contract/travel assignment expectations
• Active state licensure where applicable; pending license is not accepted
• ARDMS / RDCS / RVT / ARRT or equivalent credentials preferred
• BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Experience with Epic charting and PACS image management
• Comfortable performing OB/GYN (1st–3rd trimester), fetal anatomical surveys, Doppler studies and vascular exams
• Ability to float between hospital and outpatient settings, work weekends, and take on-call shifts

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong proficiency in OB/GYN sonography: 1st, 2nd and 3rd trimester scans, fetal anatomical survey, nuchal translucency
• Vascular ultrasound skills including carotid, lower/upper extremity arterial and venous studies, arterial mapping and graft studies
• General abdominal, small parts and pediatric ultrasound (gallbladder, liver, spleen, pediatric abdomen/pelvis, thyroid, testes)
• Experience with ultrasound-guided procedures and biopsy assistance
• Comfortable using GE, Siemens and Acuson systems, portable ultrasound units and PACS
• Familiarity with Epic for charting and documentation
• Ability to manage daily caseloads of roughly 8–20 studies with good time management
• Excellent patient communication, teamwork and adaptability when covering multiple sites
