Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, supporting daily living activities
• Assist with bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding and mobility with dignity
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes to nursing staff
• Document resident care thoroughly and maintain clear communication with the care team
• Support safety and infection prevention practices on every shift
• Build trusting relationships with residents and their families through respectful communication
• Help maintain a clean, comfortable, and home-like environment for residents

Qualifications

• Active CNA certification (or eligible to obtain Maine CNA credentials)
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass background check and required health screenings
• Demonstrated compassion, reliability, and strong communication skills
• Comfort with physical aspects of the role (lifting, assisting with mobility)
• Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED required
• CNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Fundamentals of resident care and activities of daily living
• Basic vital sign measurement and observation of clinical changes
• Infection control, hand hygiene, and safety procedures
• Clear, respectful documentation and verbal communication
• Teamwork and the ability to follow care plans and nursing direction
• Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
