Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
• Monitor and record vital signs and report any concerning changes to the nursing team
• Assist with safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and equipment
• Support mealtime and hydration needs while encouraging independence
• Maintain accurate documentation and communicate updates during shift handoffs
• Follow infection control and safety procedures to protect residents and staff
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to enhance resident care

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (state certification required)
• CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain promptly)
• Completed approved CNA training program and clinical experience preferred
• Current immunizations and ability to pass required health screenings
• Clear background check and ability to work in a long-term care setting
• Dependable, professional, and compassionate approach to resident care
• Reliable transportation to the Westbrook facility

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an approved CNA program

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of activities of daily living (ADLs) and basic nursing care
• Comfortable taking and documenting vital signs accurately
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with residents and families
• Familiarity with infection control practices and safe patient handling
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Basic electronic charting or paper charting proficiency
