Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents and patients
- Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, feeding, toileting)
- Take and accurately record vital signs and patient observations
- Support safe transfers and mobility assistance while preventing falls
- Document care in the patient record and communicate changes to the nursing team
- Maintain infection control standards and a clean, safe environment
- Build trusting relationships with patients and their families through clear, respectful communication
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
- Authorization to practice in Maine or ability to obtain state authorization prior to start
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Ability to pass background check and drug screen
- Previous CNA experience preferred but enthusiastic, caring new grads are welcome
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent and CNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong practical skills in ADLs and basic patient care
- Comfortable taking vitals and recording observations accurately
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Time management and ability to prioritize tasks in a busy environment
- Basic charting/EMR familiarity (or willingness to learn)
- Knowledge of infection control and safety procedures
