Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct patient care including assistance with activities of daily living
- Assist with bathing, dressing, feeding and mobility to promote patient comfort and dignity
- Monitor and report vital signs and changes in patient condition to nursing staff
- Support safe patient transfers and use proper body mechanics to prevent injury
- Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with the care team
- Follow infection control protocols and facility policies to protect patients and staff
- Build trusting relationships with patients and their families through kindness and professionalism
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required
- Ability to work the 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM shift reliably
- Comfortable providing direct hands-on patient care in a long-term care or similar setting
- Valid basic healthcare certifications as required by facility (e.g., state-specific credentials)
- Strong communication, teamwork and patient-focused attitude
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred; CNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on patient care and support for activities of daily living
- Basic vital signs measurement and documentation
- Safe patient handling and transfer techniques
- Infection control practices and adherence to facility policies
- Clear verbal and written communication with patients and staff
- Empathy, patience and the ability to remain calm under pressure
