Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents — assisting with activities of daily living like bathing, dressing, and mobility
- Monitor and record vital signs, reporting changes in condition to the nursing team
- Support a safe, clean and comfortable environment through proper infection control and bedside care
- Assist with feeding, transfers and range-of-motion exercises as directed
- Communicate clearly and kindly with residents and families to ensure person-centered care
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary staff to implement care plans and improve outcomes
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (Maine or eligible for Maine certification)
- Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and required health screenings
- Comfortable working a hands-on clinical role with a focus on resident dignity and safety
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
Education
- High school diploma or GED
- Completion of an accredited CNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Fundamental patient care skills and supporting activities of daily living
- Accurate vital signs measurement and basic clinical observation
- Infection prevention, safe resident handling, and basic safety protocols
- Effective verbal communication with residents, families and the care team
- Time management, prioritization, and ability to work reliably in a fast-paced setting
- Familiarity with electronic charting is a plus
