Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide attentive, compassionate hands-on care to residents, helping with daily living activities
• Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility while preserving dignity
• Monitor and report changes in condition to nursing staff to support safe care decisions
• Maintain clean, safe resident environments and follow infection control practices
• Support mealtime assistance and document intake as appropriate
• Build trusting relationships with residents and their families, bringing empathy to every interaction

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification — Maine certification preferred or eligible
• Current basic life support (BLS) certification is a plus
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and required health screenings
• Comfortable working evening shifts and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team
• Strong communication skills and a patient-first attitude
• Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent and successful completion of an approved CNA program

Knowledge & Skills

• Fundamental resident care skills and safe transfer techniques
• Basic charting and documentation practices
• Understanding of infection prevention and standard precautions
• Good observation skills to notice and report subtle changes
• Teamwork, time management, and the ability to prioritize tasks
• Compassionate bedside manner and respect for resident dignity
