Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living — bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
• Provide compassionate, respectful care that preserves patient dignity
• Take and record vital signs, reporting changes in condition to the nursing team
• Document care accurately and timely in the patient chart
• Support residents during meal times and assist with safe feeding when needed
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for patients
• Communicate clearly with nurses, family members, and interdisciplinary team to coordinate care

Qualifications

• Active CNA certification (or eligible to obtain) — state-specific certification required
• Current BLS/CPR certification preferred or ability to obtain
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Comfortable assisting with mobility and transfers; safe lifting practices
• Clear background check and up-to-date health screenings/immunizations as required by facility
• Compassionate attitude, strong communication skills, and ability to work in a team

Education

• High school diploma or GED
• Completion of an accredited CNA program and active CNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) and patient hygiene
• Ability to take and accurately record vital signs
• Familiarity with infection control practices and patient safety protocols
• Good documentation skills and attention to detail
• Effective verbal communication with patients, families, and clinical teams
• Time management and ability to prioritize tasks in a busy care environment
