Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care and assistance with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming)
• Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and equipment
• Take and record vital signs and communicate changes to the nursing team
• Assist with meal service and feeding support as needed
• Observe residents closely and report any changes in condition to nursing staff
• Document care accurately and promptly in resident charts or electronic records
• Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment for residents
• Engage residents with kindness, dignity, and person-centered interactions

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification (or equivalent) — must be active/eligible in Maine
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Completion of mandated health screenings and background checks as required by facility
• Comfortable working with elderly and long-term care populations
• Dependable, punctual, team-oriented, and committed to high-quality care

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Current CNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in assisting with ADLs and maintaining resident dignity
• Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
• Familiarity with infection control and safety procedures
• Basic charting and documentation skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with residents and families
• Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
• Team collaboration and willingness to support colleagues
