Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
- Monitor and record vital signs and resident status accurately and promptly
- Support safe mobility and fall prevention through attentive, hands-on care
- Communicate clearly with nursing staff and families to ensure coordinated care
- Assist with dining, hygiene, and comfort measures to promote dignity and wellbeing
- Document resident interactions and care in accordance with facility policies
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (Certified Nursing Assistant) — ready to work in Maine or able to obtain state registration
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Ability to pass background checks, TB screening, and required immunizations
- Dependable, compassionate, and team-oriented with strong communication skills
- Previous experience in long-term care or similar settings is a plus but not required
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completed CNA training program and active CNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on resident care and assistance with ADLs
- Basic vital sign measurement and reporting
- Infection control and safe hygiene practices
- Effective, respectful communication with residents, families, and staff
- Accurate documentation and time management during shifts
- Team collaboration and following care plans
