Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate perioperative patient care from pre-op through recovery
• Perform thorough patient assessments and develop nursing diagnoses and care plans
• Circulate in the operating room across specialties (Orthopedics, ENT, GYN/OB, General, Ophthalmology, Dental)
• Assist with scrubbing duties when needed and encourage cross-training
• Evaluate interventions and document patient outcomes to support continuous improvement
• Respond to on-call emergencies with professionalism and calm under pressure
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthetists, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure patient safety

Qualifications

• Current, full, unrestricted RN license from any U.S. state, territory, or Puerto Rico
• Basic Life Support (BLS) — American Heart Association
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) — American Heart Association
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) — AHA (to be obtained within 6 months if not current)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) completion within 6 months of hire
• Certified Perioperative Nurse (CNOR) expected within 1 year of hire (or working toward it)
• Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) completion within 2 years of hire
• Minimum two (2) years clinical nursing and/or operating room practical experience

Education

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing

Knowledge & Skills

• Perioperative patient care and operating room workflows
• Patient assessment, nursing diagnosis, care planning and evaluation
• Circulating and scrubbing techniques in a variety of surgical specialties
• Ability to work varied hours and respond quickly for emergency cases
• Strong communication and teamwork skills in high-acuity environments
• Familiarity with outpatient/ambulatory surgical procedures and periop protocols
